As usual nothing was accomplished this morning. Pop was gone by the time I woke up this morning. Pop and Doug left on the eight o’clock train for South Bend to get the car. After much talking and discussion it was lunch time again. Harry wasn’t feeling well so he didn’t eat any and just as we finished Paul arrived. So we gave him something to eat and just as he was finishing Pop and Douglas arrived but they had had lunch. We persuaded Pop to take us swimming so Paul, Ed and June and I went swimming and Pop and Aunt Hortie took us in the car but it was such a long way down and back that we only had a short time in the water. We went into Lake Michigan. The water was cold and I never had so many people on a beach unless it was in the movies. When we got back it was supper time. After supper we all went down to the show, nine of us. We went down on the “L” so we wouldn’t have to take time to park. We saw “After Dark”. It was a reproduction of a play given in 1869. It was well done but it was rather boring and nobody liked it much. We stopped at a soda fountain coming home.
