October 31, 1931 - Saturday

I didn’t get up until eleven fifteen this morning. We went to see Louise Larkin then had lunch downtown and then went to a show. Later we went for a ride. Tonight went to the Congress Hotel to dance with Dorothy & Bob T.

School has started beautifully for me this year. It certainly makes a difference in how good a time you have in college whether you are going out or not. The house has run beautifully the last two weeks.

Jane's Notes: I'd say Mom is taking her studies a bit more seriously in her Junior year. Knowing my grandmother I'll bet she was a bit chagrined when her house guest slept in so late.

October 30, 1931 - Friday

Now I’m in Portland again. I’m staying with the Hibbards. I didn’t have my two o’clock so I was ready when Stan Haberlach and George came after me. We got to Portland about six. We stayed home tonight.

October 29, 1931 - Thursday

I got up early and went to the library to study for the awful criminology quiz. I had a ten. My last mid-term. I went downtown at 1:30 to have my hair trimmed. Went down again at 3 with George. Betas to dinner. I had Chuck Thomas.

October 28, 1931 - Wednesday

What an awful History quiz. I have never been as sleepy as I was this morning after my Technique Class. This afternoon Jeanne and I went to the college (I’m assuming the College Side Inn – an coffee house near the Oregon campus that still exists). George came over tonight from 8:30 to 10:30.

October 27, 1931 - Tuesday

George called up this morning about 8:30 because he hadn’t gotten me last night. After my one class and in the afternoon and tonight I studied Ancient History. I went downtown with Jeanne before dinner.

October 26, 1931 - Monday

I think I got thru my quiz in Econ alright. I did a lot in Technique of Acting today. I went downtown before dinner. I have been appointed an officer in the chapter! Saw most wonderful show tonight with Jeanne.
