This morning we took our ride to Oyster Bay. We wanted to see the beautiful home on Long Island and Roosevelt’s Home. It took us a long time to get out there because there was so much traffic. We went in our car. We wandered around all morning in the many highways and by ways enjoying the lovely scenery and pretty towns. We found Roosevelt’s home and then started back into the city. On the way in we stopped at one of these dining car lunch counters for lunch. Then we rushed on into town. We went to the matinee of “The Journey’s End”. Mom was too tired to go so we left her at the hotel and went on. It was a wonderful play about the English in the World War. There were no women in the play. After the play we went out to dinner and afterwards we went to the comedy play “Let Us Be Gay” that was very good but I don’t think June and Mom enjoyed it so. It was bout modern youth and divorce and Mom always makes faces over that. We strolled down Broadway on the way back and there certainly were mobs of people. You couldn’t see anything but heads down the street.
