Monday, July 1, 1929 - Jacksonville Beach

I don’t know what time it was when we got up but where we were in swimming it was seven. We got into our suits as soon as we woke up and went swimming before breakfast. We came in and took our showers and then had breakfast. After breakfast I wrote a letter and read until lunch. After lunch I wrote again and about one thirty June and I went swimming again and we stayed in until five thirty. Then we came in and sat around in our bathing suits. Then we went in again with them. We only stayed in a little while this time. When we got dressed we had supper and then went riding up the beach. We went to the board walk and June and I had our first ride on a roller coaster. It certainly was fun. I never realized it was as scary as all that. We’re leaving for Washington tomorrow I think but this is certainly a wonderful place! We adopted a beautiful police dog that somebody left behind or lost. We just love him. They’re going to keep him ‘till they find his owner.
