Monday, July 8, 1929, Ft. Washington, MD

We were going to spend another day of sight seeing and we didn’t see a thing and I never spent such a hot day in all my life. We got up rather late and had a late breakfast. At about nine Mom told us that she was going to the doctor and for us to be ready and waiting when she got back. At ten we were ready having dressed and done a few odd jobs besides. But they didn’t come back until eleven almost. Then our family and Anna Louise and Lucile went into town. We spent about a half an hour shopping before lunch. Then after lunch we shopped until three. Then Mom and Pop waited to see about a place to stay in town tomorrow and by the time we had done that it was time to start home because we wanted to get back in time to see the parade. We left town about a quarter or ten to four and got out here at twenty to five. After the parade and address we came home and had supper. As we were finishing a wind and some rain blew up and cooled it off for awhile and put out the light until a few minutes ago!
