I went to my first class at eight. I have been feeling awful
all day. I’ve been lying down reading mostly. After dinner went for a long walk
in the rain with Jeanne. I’m loosing June E. as roommate.
I’m certainly glad that his month is over. Such a time with
staying up late and exams and so far it’s a wonder I’m not a nervous wreck. I’m
cross enough as it is!

George's letter home:
Lo’ Folks,
Here I am in my room shooting my bran-new stationary right
back to you. I went to my first class today; I wish they were all like they are
on the first day you just get your assignments and then leave.
Bob O’Melveny and I went to a fifteen-cent show this
afternoon and just got back.
I just hid Preble’s chair, and he is ranting around the
lodge trying to find it. Good joke on him. My pen came this morning, and I
certainly was glad to get it. Kind of a dumb trick to run off without it
anyway.
There isn’t much news, so I will write you a long letter at
the end of the week.
Love, George
