Saturday, March 23, 1929

I was going down town this AM but we had a graduation practice at ten thirty so I couldn’t go. After breakfast I puttered around until time to go to school. We got thru about eleven thirty and Helen brought me home. After dinner I rested and at three I went down town while Mom was at the boat. I came back for her at four and then we went to the “China Drawn Work” and I spent some money. Then we came home and I dressed to go out to the Jason for dinner. Bunny and his friend came by about 5:10 and then we went after Hope. She wasn’t home yet so we had to wait for her. We caught the 5:30 boat to the ship which didn’t leave until quarter to six. We had to stop at all the air planes on the way out to the ship. It’s a big boat. We had a wonderful dinner about quarter to seven and then went to the movies on board. After the movies we played bridge until the ten o’clock boat and then went to the Hotel. Got home about 2.

Jane's Notes: Here's a note on note paper from the Army-Navy Club about arrangements for this dinner. Army Navy Club notepaper. “Called several times this afternoon but no luck. Everything is ok for Saturday to the Jason for dinner. Try to get Hope, if she can’t arrange her freedom better yet another girl. The boat leaves the A-N Club about five thirty so we will call for you about five. If I can get ashore tomorrow, Friday, will call but if not we will call at your home about five, then go for Hope. Till Saturday, Bunny.”
