Friday, March 29

I slept late this morning. When I came downstairs Mrs. Heilburn was there. She had a bottle of perfume for June and one of jade for me. Mom had to go to the doctor’s again this morning and I took her down. After lunch June, Jane and I decided to go to the movies. We saw Marion Davis in “The Cardboard Lover”. It was very good and very funny. Just as I got home Mom announced that Mary Crosby had phoned in distress that she was having a tea and one of her players had backed out and could I help her. The tea was at four. I played bridge with Mary Brasted (she leaves the day after I do), Mary Louise Colbert and Margarita somebody, a new girl. Pop was playing golf with the Franks and they live at the Crosby’s so I came home with them and then brought me home at about 7:30. At eight we went to the Service at the church. It was musical service and it certainly was beautiful. Particularly the organ music and the chorus. I got home from the church about ten fifteen.
