When I woke up about nine thirty I found all the family gone. I found out they had gone swimming. I got hold of Mom and she told me to order a car and come out. After a spell I got out there about ten thirty. I had a nice morning swim and deepened the color of my skin. After lunch I read again until about 3:45. I was invited to Helen Miller’s for tea and bridge. There were just two tables. Before tea we took our pictures. I played a pretty good game for me. Bunny Gates had called up before we left the house and I understood him to say he was coming between seven and seven thirty. We left Helen’s at 7:20 so I expected to find them waiting for me. They didn’t come until after eight. Hope , Dave, Bunny and I had dinner at the Army and Navy Club. There was quite a crowd. There were some huge dinner parties, about sixty people at one table. After dinner we went over to the hotel. Again I saw lots of people I knew. A Dan somebody joined us later. Home at three!
