The day! No more school, no more books, no more teacher’s with crossed looks. At central we didn’t do a thing as far as studying was concerned. We got our card and helped decorate. About nine thirty Helen and I went downtown to get some more paper for decorating purposes. At Physics Mr. Sarrano gave us back our note books and told us what good pupils we had been etc. etc. At two I went downtown with Pop and got Helen’s present and did some errands and got home at three. While I was gone Helen had left a present for me. It is a darling compact. We all had to be at school at four. We had our pictures taken and then just at five marched slowly up the stairs. I was grinning and almost giggling all thru the program. At last we got our diplomas. Our uniforms didn’t look so bad and the orchid bouquets were beautiful. Mary Brasted gave me some lovely hankies and Mrs. Street a beautiful bouquet. Afterward we had our pictures taken again and then Mom, Helen Morton, Helen Miller and I went to the Polo Club for awhile.
Jane's Notes: an envelope in the scrap book contains the High School Commencement Program, Invitation, cards that probably accompanied graduation presents plus a pressed flower in a yellow ribbon.
