Except for the first period we wrote all day. Tests in Civics, English, Spanish and Physics and probably not one of them will count. We got our pictures of Class Day and everybody wanted signatures on the back of pictures. I never signed my name so many times in all my life. After lunch I slept for a little while and about one I started getting ready to go to Hope’s. Mom kept telling me to hurry as she usually does but she was late herself. It was the loveliest shower and I got such beautiful presents. Four pieces for my desk that I didn’t have, some towels and a dresser scarf and a darling felt bug from Myra Belleandau, oil painting of the 220 that Hope did herself. The prettiest best thing. We played bridge until seven, then the Morton’s brought me home and I dressed as fast as I could and was ready for Dick at seven thirty and he didn’t come until eight. After much hunting we found the apartment. Fred cooked the dinner and Myra Belle made a perfect hostess. After dinner went to see “New Brooms” again. Went to Tom’s afterwards. Home 2:15.
Jane's Notes: A newspaper clipping in the scrapbook reads: "Miss Hope Blaisdell will honor Miss Annabell Powell this afternoon at a tea at her home. Mrs. Leopold Kahn, Jr., will pour. Her guests will be the Misses Helen Morton, Alice Morton, Lucy Morton, Minnie Harris, Doris Tremblay, Margaret Ostrand, Jean tyre, Helen Miller, ruth Carman, Consuel McMicking, Mrs. A. B. Powell, Mrs. Hendricks and Mrs. Leopold Kahn, Jr."
There is an envelope with cards inside from that party. On Hope’s card she says “Anabelle - I hope you will hang this picture somewhere in your room where it can always remind you of the good times you had on the “220”. Love, Hope.” A 2nd card from Hope says “Dearest Annabelle, This is to go with the rest of your desk set - Lovingly, Hopie." Another card “With the best of all good wishes for Happy Days at college. Much, much love, Helen.” “To Elizabeth with all the best wishes in the world, Doris” “May your days at Oregon be as happy as mine were Anabelle. Lovingly MyraBelle”
