At eight went over to school for rehearsal. I think the plays going to be a flop. We can only hope for the best. Helen told me that Alex was to call for me tomorrow night but he hasn’t called me up. After rehearsal (about ten) we took Helen home and then Mom and I went to see the Carnival exhibits. I bought three monkeys in the Chinese section. When I got home I discovered that I had two speak no evil monkeys. I’ll have to change it. We left there about a quarter to twelve. Mom did some shopping and then we went after Pop. After lunch I slept until about four. I went swimming at four thirty and came home at five thirty. At six fifteen we went to a huge wedding at the big cathedral in the Walled City. It was a Navy wedding and the bride and groom came out under an arch of swords. It was a beautiful wedding even if the bride wasn’t. Millions of people were there. We got home about 7 and June, Jane and I had dinner while Mom and Pop went to the reception.
Jane’s Notes: I think we had those monkeys in the desk in the den while we were growing up. They were carved of some sort of dark wood with inset eyes of ivory. Don’t know what ever happened to them.
