Washington’s Birthday, no school, but we had to go just the same to practice. We got there about nine. Helen brought me home and showed me to the door. Then about ten we got out to the Polo Club to swim. As it was a holiday there were heaps of people out there. I saw Alex. We swam around and took pictures (Ed W. camera) until eleven. Alex told me that it was all arranged and he and Allen were coming around on Sunday for me. We got home about twelve. We had Eddie stay to lunch. After lunch about two o’clock we went to the show. We saw “Air Circus” and heard the U of O orchestra. O! it was the most wonderful thing. We had to hurry home before it was over and Hope was waiting for me to take me to Ruth Carrier’s tea. She didn’t know the way. I got a little mixed myself but I got them out there. I stuck to my resolve to get thin and didn’t eat much. I played with Alice and Helen Morton and Mary Cadwalider and won the prize. We left there about a quarter to eight. We went to the church supper from there. Hope is spending the night with me.
