Saturday, February 2, 1929

I didn’t do anything in particular all morning. Just puttered around. I slept until about four then I went down town. I did some shopping while the car went to get Pop. then we went after Mom at a tea but she wasn’t ready to come and so we went to the Jap store on M.H.Del Pilar where I got some things and then we went to the Islade Pazie for some stoxies. Then we went back after Mom. We had dinner as soon as we got home because June’s boy friend was coming to take us to the Carnival. He came at quarter to seven and we told him (Ed Whitesides) to dismiss his car and we took ours. Mom and Pop were having a dinner party. 32 people! We left the house a little after seven. After we had been there a while we met David G. and he escorted me the rest of the evening. We saw the Samonian dancers . They were good but the best side show was “The Wild West Show” put on by the Army. We went to the skating rink last and stayed there until seven thirty. I had a good time being a child.

Jane's Notes: I guess when you've turned 18, you have to classify fun as "childish."
