This morning I tried to read a silly mystery story. I read snatches of it when I wasn’t chasing Eleanor. I’m still the only lady down to meals. After lunch I took some exercise and at four I served tea to those assembled for tea on deck. After tea the two Staals and Pop and I went down to the ward room and played bridge. We played three rubbers. H.S. and I won two of them. We’re going to play again tomorrow. Late in the afternoon it began to get quite rough. After supper we all went up on deck after I had put Eleanor to bed. Mom and Pop went down about nine thirty H.S. took me up to the bridge. Way up two decks. He showed me the compass and all kinds of things. It was very interesting. To bed about ten fifteen.
