O, this awful train. This night is going to be almost
endless. I was on this morning so I got all packed before lunch. I worked until
within 15 minutes of the time I left. I had a wonderful dinner at Winifred’s
home in Medford. Fred’s on the train too.

Addressed to Mr. George Hibbard, Crater Lake Lodge
Dearest George,
Well here I am in Medford at the Warner’s Home. It is a
lovely old home. They were all so glad to see Birdsy, they just included us in
their welcome. They made us feel right at home. This is such a restful part of
town, big lawns and old houses. Laura Drewry lives across the street and she
was just going by when we arrived so I got to see her. She says the she won’t be
able to come back to school this term. It’s a shame. She says that she wants to
come up for the last of rush week but she doesn’t know whether she will be able
to make it.
I haven’t got time to write more than a note, dear, but I
wanted you to have that much tomorrow.
Love, Annie.
