May 10, 1932 - Tuesday

The weekend has left me a little blue I guess. I still felt weak physically in the morning and I guess that started me off wrong. I miss my “mom” and then not seeing George since yesterday has left me lonely. I read all day to keep occupied.

A note from Jane:  The following letter was found among the letters, inserted by my grandmother. I would venture to guess that it had never been read until I came across it in reading all these inherited letters and diaries.

My Darling Boy:

If in after years you should ever look through these letters, this is just to thank you for a wonderful Mother’s Day, weekend. Ours that abounds out in memory. And the dinner at the Lodge was a perfect ending of a perfect time. And Ann also helped to make it a perfect time.

Love and kisses, Mother

This note was attached to two programs and a florist card.

Florist Card: Mother’s Day Greetings. Thank you so much for being with me this weekend, mother. I appreciate it more than I can tell. Brother

Program: La Fete Venitienne – Junior Week-End, University of Oregon May 7, 1932.

Program: Fifth Annual Banquet Oregon Mothers, McArthur court, University of Oregon, May 7, 1932.
