Bill Earl came over to Mrs. Williams to mend his films.
Talked to him a while, later packed. Mrs. Williams served lunch for two in the
School Room. Went into Los Angeles in the afternoon. Left on Lark at 8:20
enroute to San Francisco.
Jane’s Notes: You will recall that when the Powell’s began
their journey around the country they left Eleanor with Mrs. Williams in
Pasadena. Eleanor continued to live there during Mom’s Freshman year, 1929-30
(the missing year from her diaries). At the end of her Freshman Year, Granny Powell
and June rejoined Grandpa Powell in Manila and Mom was on her own, moving into
the Alpha Phi House in Eugene. She spent her Christmas vacations in California
with Eleanor.
