Dear Mother,
Thank you so much for the scarf and rug. I wore my new scarf
to church yesterday.
Mrs. Maden sent me the money today and I am going to plop it
down on my house bill right away. That will make twenty dollars of it already.
My bill came to one hundred thirteen dollars and ninety cents; so that leaves
ninety-three dollars and ninety cents already to be paid any time. Initiation
started last evening at seven o’clock; so I should have the money just as soon
as possible.
I won’t write any more until next week now, because too many
things are happening around here.
Love, George
