November 9, 1933 - Thursday

Darling,

Do you think I should feel sort of guilty? I took Steve’s car to mail your letter today! When he left last night he left the car here for me to use because he has the duty today.

Last night Jack had the duty so Alice went out to his ship (a submarine, the U.S.S. Bass) for dinner and Steve took me to the Grey Gables Inn to supper. The Grey Gables Inn is a very attractive place. It looks as tho’ it might have been a private home at one time and the hostess is a very charming white haired woman who was very anxious that we were satisfied.  Steve has been out there often so they are old pals. After super we went to see “Meet the Baron” which I tho’t was just an average show altho’ it wasn’t bad. The town was certainly dead last night. When the show was over there were only about seven people in the show besides ourselves. We went to get something to eat and almost everything was closed up. We were the last customers they served in the place we finally did go to.

So far I have had an awfully good time with Steve and principally I think because our relations have been purely friendly. It’s you I love dear and always will!

Good night, darling

Annie.
