Dearest George,
Wasn’t the weekend perfect! I enjoyed being with you so
much, dear. I am looking forward to every minute that we are together. Do you
think I would be too bold if I suggested that I stay at your house every
Saturday night wile you are at Camp? What do you think? I await your verdict!
I wish that you would please cast your peepers on the
enclosed grade card!! I was so excited when it came this morning that I
couldn’t wait for you to come to town but I have to send it to you. But don’t
you dare loose it see, because it is an important piece of paper!
I have also enclosed my father’s letter that I wanted you to
read. Would you mind remembering to bring them both in with you the next time
you come?
This day has been a pretty busy one for me. This morning I
did house work! Get that. Our room was still a mess from unpacking. I
straightened it up and made our bed and Mom’s up clean and then I washed
practically all the stockings I have and then I got lunch. Doesn’t that sound
housewify? This afternoon I caught up on my memory book and some of my snap
shot books but I have so many pictures that I haven’t room in my album and I’ll
have to get some new ones. It is so much fun to look back at the good times I
have had in school. Darling, I have to get a job in Portland next year so that
I can come down to see you in Eugene and so that you can come to see me when
you can get to Portland. Just these short separations show me how unbearable it
would be to be separated for so long.
Mom and I are going downtown tomorrow and I am going to leave
my Portland address at the library in case I might get something there. O,
George, if I only could!
Come over when you can, dear. We will have extra on hand so
that if you come before dinner you can eat here.
I love you, darling
Annie
