July 17, 1932 - Sunday

My early day. Not much business. In the afternoon I read. Slept about ½ an hour before work at 4. Was quite busy the hour I was on. After super and shower George and I went for a walk. A little rain.

George's letter home:

‘Lo Mom,

Things are a little better with me this evening, but I still need a little help. Mortal mind troubled me most of the day, and I found it very hard to do my work. I realize where my help comes from, Mother; and I know that this claim is merely an erroneous manifestation of error.

My shoes arrived today, and I thank you very much for them. If you can spare three dollars, I could use it readily. I owe Bill Manning two dollars, and I need a little for myself.

The wind blows continuously here and the sun is hidden behind the clouds most of the time. We all go to work in our heavy clothes, even inside the Lodge.

Ann and I are going for a walk in the moonlight now, so I will sign off for awhile.

Love, Brother
