November 30, 1931 - Monday

Classes again! I certainly will be glad when Xmas vacation comes. This has been a squirrelly evening. It started at dinner and lasted until about nine o’clock. I couldn’t do any studying tonight. Have to study hard rest of term ‘tho.

As usual when finals begin to roll around I begin to get scared. My grades seem so much more indefinite this year for some reason. I think I’ll get by everything but by how much I don’t know. Time will tell.

George's letter home:

Dear Mother,

We got here about eight-thirty ---- just frozen to the bone. I just about wore myself out this weekend, but I think it was well worth the time I put in. This next holiday will be one of rest and quiet for this kid and I am not fooling.

I will need $43.40 for my bills this month, and that is just about too much. Next term I am not going to call once and I am not going to come home once and I am not going to have any bills other than my house bills. Pretty early for new years resolutions, but it is just about that time.

The week is too young for any real developments on the news line; I just wanted you to know that we got here safely.

Love, Brother
