October 8, 1931 - Thursday

I only had one class today. I studied before it and for about an hour this afternoon. At three Doro and I went downtown. The Chi Psi’s came over for desert and dancing. I had a wonderful time. Then studied. Now to bed.

George's Letter Home

Dear Mom,

We went over to the Alpha Phi house this evening for dessert and a little dancing. Gee, but I had a nice time with my little girl. I am not forgetting my studies though; in fact I am doing a lot of that little thing. This English History course is terribly detailed and requires a lot of study; but I am the kid to do it, so don’t worry.

Howard is running for freshman president, and of course is neglecting his studies. I just bawled him out, but he doesn’t seem to know how to utilize his time. I surely hope he learns how.

This is pretty early to talk about next summer, but Eddy and I want to go to Canada when school is out. We plan to take twenty-five dollars apiece, if that can be arranged, go up and be back in a week, and then I would ride as far south as Medford with him. He is going to Sacramento for the summer. That is something to think about anyway, and we surely want to do it.

My cold is better now, but my handkerchiefs are all gone too. I lost Mrs. McCune’s address; so I wish you would send it to me again.

Love, Brother
