So school has started again. I had 8, 9, 10 & eleven o’clocks.
Peggy is in all of them. Then I had a two o’clock. We had a long chapter
meeting. I am one of the two Jr. representatives in S.C. After chapter George came over until 9:30.

George's Letter Home:
Dear Mom,
This is rather a belated letter, but this week has been darn
full for all of us. We pledged twelve men, and they are the pick of the
freshmen. Every time I meet someone from another house; they remark about the
wonderful class we took in. It must be true; because they don’t admit a thing
like that very easily. We now have thirty boys; so our house bills should be
much lower.
We are moving tomorrow, and Howard is to be my roommate.
Tongue and I are the only ones Bill saw fit in the sophomore class to manage a
room. It is usually worked so an upper classman has a freshman, but there
aren’t enough. So Tom and I were selected too.
I went to classes today, and I can see where I will have to
do a lot of studying. My books are quite an item this year; ten dollars and
something.
Eddy and I are leaving Friday afternoon for home, and we are
bringing Ann Powell up with us. She is going to stay with one of her sisters in
Portland. I know you will like her mother; she is so sweet. Bob Trimm will be
with us too; but he is riding up with Don Thompson, one of our new boys.
I feel fine now except for my cold, and it is clearing up
just like it should.
It surely seems strange to be a sophomore, not half as much
fun as being a freshman. We just sit around and feel like a bunch of little old
men. Well that is the way it goes. Next year I will be an upper classman, which
will give me some authority around this place.
That is about all now. I received my laundry.
Love, Brother
