September 14, 1931 – Monday

I’m leaving here tomorrow!!! I’ve been so excited all evening. I’ve told everybody. We finished early this morning. The afternoon wrote two long letters. George came over for awhile after dinner.

George's Letter Home:

Dear Mom,

The weather is nice and warm again, but I am enclosing some cold weather pictures just the same. I hope you are putting these pictures in my album; they will mean quite a bit to me in years to come.

Lewis and I are now engaged in storing away twenty cords of wood. Boy, we are so tired at night that we can barely move. Oh well, only six more days of it. That is one thing to look forward to anyway.

This is all. I will see you soon, George
