October 12, 1933 - Thursday

Dearest sweetheart,

Please forgive me for crying around so in my last night’s letter. It was just that I was so disappointed in not hearing from you. I sent a package to you today as a peace offering. I hoped you like it!

My cousin has arrived and I have been talking to him this evening. He asked me if I like to dance and I was afraid of what was coming so I said not very much, he said that was too bad because he loved to dance. If he dances as I think he might an evening with him would certainly wear me out. But he’s all right I think we will get along. He arrived this evening just in time for supper. He wishes it was tomorrow so he could start working. He doesn’t mind it. Sleepy used to know him when we were back in nineteen twenty and she recognized him right away.

Well darling today has been a busy day and I have had a lot of work to do. This cooking job for six people takes up a lot of time and so I have to crowd whatever else I have to do in the morning between. I go to town every afternoon to do the shopping and marketing and that usually takes about an hour and a half and by the time I get home and cleaned up I don’t have much time before I have to start supper. And so it goes around and around with the thrill of your letter every morning.

Goodnight lover,

Annie
