March 27, 1933 - Monday

Well I finally got registered this morning at about 9:30. It was raining awfully hard all day which made it awfully slochy. This afternoon I got straightened around and George came over this evening.

Letter to the Hibbards from Ann:

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Hibbard,

You have been so kind to me that I don’t know when I will ever be able to tell you how much I appreciate it. It has been such a comfort to know that I had a house when I came to Portland. If my mother comes to Portland I want you to meet her right away. She has said so many times in her letters how much she likes you already for being so kind to me. I don’t know whether they are coming over or not. I had some letters waiting for me when I got here and it is up to me to decide whether I am to go home or whether they will come back here. I have to cable them and I don’t know what to say.

The train we came down on last night was awfully crowded. There were quite a few Chi Psis and Alpha Phis on it. We didn’t have to move around to see them because they were walking up and down the train. The train was just cars and cars and cars long. We got into Eugene about 11:30 which wasn’t a very bad time but somehow it sounds like a terribly long ride.

It was raining when I woke up this morning and it rained steadily until about two o’clock this afternoon. It was nice and sloshy all through registration. George and I got thru at about the same time.

I am awfully sleepy right about now because I didn’t get to bed until about two, there were so many people to see, things to talk about and letters to read (four of them).

I am enclosing a check for the four dollars that you lent me, Mrs. Hibbard, to pay for my shoes and thank you kindly very, very much. I appreciated it!!

It is hard to realize that this is my last term in school. I am going to make it a good one believe me. I hope the weather turns nicer.

Love, Ann
