Well, the house election troubles have set in. Studied up at
the library this afternoon until George came after me about 4:30 and we went
downtown. We had a senior meeting after dinner and George came over later.

George's letter home:
Dear Mother,
I received your letter this morning, and I thank you very
much for it. The two dollars I shall use to pay off a couple of tiny debts that
I have incurred.
Dad called me last evening, and he doesn’t think much of
this bachelor’s life. He was sitting in front of the fireplace doing nothing
with his little body and soul. Better not stay away from him too long, mother,
you can’t live twenty years with a person without both of you missing each
other.
I have certainly been studying hard the last few days. The
last examinations before the finals are just about over now, and they have been
keeping me busy. This one today had me scared, but I think I did it alright.
Just a week and a half and I will be home. Ann and I will
leave here sometime on Friday, March the seventeenth, and we will be in
Portland until Sunday, March the twenty sixth. It will only be a nine day
vacation, but at least it is something. DO YOU REALIZE THAT I HAVEN’T BEEN HOME
OR SEEN EITHER OF YOU FOR THREE MONTHS? Just think of it -----
We are having a swell dessert for dinner this evening.
Fannie has made some creampuffs only without the cream, and she is going to put
a dipper of ice cream in each one. Then on the outside, she is going to pour
chocolate sauce.
Eddy, Grady, and myself have a forty day bet on. We cannot
smoke during that period, and the first one to break the agreement, must pay
the other two each four-bits.
There you have the extent of the news, mother. As per usual,
the end of the term brings nothing very interesting. Everyone is scurrying
around to bring their grades up at the last minute, and poor old social
activities take a terrible drop.
Give my love to Grandma and tell them that I wish I could
see more of them than I do.
Love, Brother
