January 5, 1933 - Thursday

Had to study today but this morning I went downtown after Psych. In the afternoon I went up to the library and studied. George came over in the evening and we read.

George's Letter Home:

Dear Family,

The second day of classes are now over, and I am beginning to feel that I am part of the machine again. My books were not as expensive as I expected them to be. They amount to $4.50, but I will not have to pay for them before about the middle of next week. It is a special privilege they have granted me, so I would like very much to pay for them as soon as possible.

I received the two letters which you forwarded to me, and thank you very much for them. One was from Curtis Barnes, and the other was from a rather nice young lady whose acquaintance I have made in the past few years.

If it is not too much trouble, I would like to have the recipe for “Sally Lunns” and that for those little cookies. Fanny has a new recipe for a “Chocolate Sundie Pie”, and it is very good. If you would like to have it, I shall send it to you.

As I had no studying to do last night yet, I went to see Anne. We read most of the evening, and other than that nothing happened.

Take care of yourselves, and be sure to sleep under WOOL QUILTS.

Love, Brother
