October 3, 1932 - Monday

My days are getting rather routine and I spent most of my time at the library. After my classes at two went to the library. After dinner read a magazine and kept study table.

Ann writes to George's mother:

Dear Mrs. Hibbard,

I can’t tell you how ashamed I am for not remembering to pay my debt back sooner. I really am awfully embarrassed. I certainly appreciated what you did for me and I would have been in a hole sure enough if you hadn’t helped me out. I am really very grateful to you even if my neglect might not seem as if I were. I think my bus fare was $5.25 and Mr. Hibbard gave me $5 for expenses and then I owe you $4.45 I think for the cleaners so I am enclosing $15 because I am not sure that the figures are right. I really am terribly, terribly sorry and I hope you will forgive me. I had intended to send it to you as soon as my check arrived from home and I was on solid ground but it arrived during rush week and in the busy of things it slipped my mind.

Next week is the game and I will be up to see you soon.

Love, Ann
