April 24, 1932 - Sunday

We had a change today. Instead of dinner we had a big breakfast at 11:30. I studied before and afterwards. At about 3:30 went to the show with George. At six went to rehearsal that lasted until after two! Whew!

George's letter home:

Dear Mother:

I received your letter with the check in it, and I have taken care of the matter for you. The person in charge of the tickets will send you them in sufficient time. Don’t be worried if they do not arrive right away, for they have not been printed yet. I will be admitted for nothing because I am a Skull and Dagger. We have to usher at the banquet. When we are through, we will be able to eat with our mothers. You and Anne can save a seat for me, and then everything will work out alright.

We went to the Mortar Board Ball last evening. That is the dance where the girls come after you and spend their money on the boys for a change (small change too). They always hold this in the Eugene Hotel, and everybody and their little flower goes to it. The Alpha Phis gave their men a nice dinner before they went, but like a poor nut, I ate before I even reached Anne’s home. ---- My, my, what stuffed toad I turned out to be.

I think your letterheads are very nice; I have posted them on the bulletin board where everyone can look at them. I am sure that everyone of the boys are of the same opinion that I am about them, too.

Anne and I went to the show this afternoon and saw Ronald Colman in Arrow Smith. It was a very good play, and we both enjoyed it very much.

I certainly have been hitting the books this weekend, thirteen hours so far and I still have this evening to go yet.

I don’t know when I will have an opportunity to come home, next weekend is our spring dance, and the weekend following is junior weekend. After that I may have a chance to do some visiting with you and Dad. ----- Until later in the week.

Love, Brother
