By tea I was ready to go up on the campus. I studied until
noon. After lunch I went downtown with George. We went to the library until
4:30. This evening we went to the show. He stayed here ‘til 12.

George's letter home:
Dear Mom,
School is well on its way now and of course your son George
is right in the midst of the whole thing. My work is going along fine, just as
you would have it do.
I am now the house manager proper with all his troubles incorporated.
As a meal planner I would make a fine hamburger king, but things are really
working themselves out fine. This position should give me a world of practical
experience, and I am going to make the best of my opportunity.
Grady and I have practically quite smoking, and I feel
better already. I have been taking a lot of exercise too --- much more than I
had last term and that seems to make me feel well too. It was no doubt my own
fault that I didn’t feel well last term.
My bills seem to be awfully large this month for some reason
or another. I find that I will need $61.23 for the bills I have on hand. That
includes the money spent on laundry toward the last of winter term, my dentist
bill of $3.50, and a cleaning and pressing bill, in addition to my house bill.
There are a few other things too, but those are the main ones. If you find this
too stiff, I can put some of it off for a month.
Anne and I are going to a show this evening; after that I
think I will come home early and do a little studying before I go to bed. So I
will say adios.
Love, Brother
P.S. Thanks a lot for the school supplies Dad, I appreciate
them greatly.
Please don’t forget my white flannels, Mom. My beard has now
been going for one whole week and it has two more to go before it can come of f–
boy --- what messy looking guy I am.
