I don’t know how I came out in my Econ quiz. There’s no
telling. After lunch I went downtown to get Jeannie’s birthday present and some
drugs. Jeanne’s dinner tonight. George came over. Studied about an hour.

George's letter home:
Dear Mother,
I don’t know if you received my last letter or not, but in
it I stated how much money I will need for this month. My bills amount to
$45.79, and I will need a little more for my trip home and other expenses.
I must write Aunt Lid a letter and thank her for the
cookies; it was certainly nice of her to send them. She treats me like a
prince, doesn’t she?
Tomorrow night, Anne has asked me to go to a dance with her
(this is leap year). It is darn lucky that she did the inviting, for I
certainly don’t have any means to ask her anyplace. Boy, do I get the breaks.
Just when I am broke they all want to take me someplace.
There isn’t much doing today or any other day around here;
everyone is biding their time until exam week rolls around. It isn’t very far
off either – just one week and we will be in the midst of them. I will be glad
when they are over and we come home for awhile.
Say hello to grandma and grandpa for me and tell my father
to get his pouch down to presentable proportions.
Love, Brother
