We had two swell truck serenades last night but they were
out in front and I barely heard them. I slept until about eleven. Studied a
while after dinner. Then I helped with tea for want of something else to do.
Wrote letters.

George's Letter Home:
Sunday, 24th (May, 1931)
Dear Folks,
I don’t know if you got my letter before or after you got
home this time but anyway everything still holds good in it. I hope you had a
nice visit with the grandfolks this time. They certainly have a good time when
you are there, I know.
Bob Trimm is going to come up the end of this term and stay
for a few days with us. His father wrote and said it would be alright if he did
so. On the twentieth of June we are going to have our dance in town and we are
going to go to it.
We had a bunch of rushees down this weekend and we showed
them a heck of a good time. Karl Koch and Scott Waters were down with them.
Last night we all went out to some new dance hall, which was just opening, and
boy what a crummy place it was. There were people from every walk of life at
the darn place.
We had our track meet with Corvallis this Saturday and the
boys sure did take that old cow college. Boy every time we defeat the place I
just shout for glee.
Carol Pomeroy and Pauline Leopold were down this weekend
too, over at the Gamma Phi house. I went over and visited them for a while.
This letter is being written after you called me and so some
of my news has been exhausted. I don’t
feel very newsy anyway, in fact I am tired and worn out, and I am going to bed
right away. I’ll write a long letter in a few days when I feel a little more
peppy.
Love, George
