George Darling,
Here I am already to go to see “Little Women” for the third
time. It is on tonight at the local theatre and I am going with the family. I
had a lovely visit with Betty and Jack last night. She said that she had gone
to the Palace hotel Thursday night after the game and seen hundreds of kids
from school. I wish that I could have been there. You remember I told you that
Betty was living with a Kappa and a girl from Mills. The Kappa is Jean Downing.
You remember her, don’t you? She was in your class and she is a cousin of the
Wedemeyers.
I was so surprised to see her there because I tho’t it was
some one that I didn’t know. Jack is so pleased to be down here and they are so
happy. Betty is going home at Christmas and she may drive up with us. By the
way we are driving up. Pop decided tonight that we could do it. So darling you
won’t see me until Sunday afternoon. I don’t know how late but, sweet heart,
you will meet my Pop.
I am sorry, dear, that you are so low on stamps. If I send
you these will you drop just a line very few days so I will know that you
haven’t broken down under the strain?
I love you, dear
Annie
