November 4, 1932 - Friday

Well I guess I went and got a nice cold for myself. Janet came this evening just before dinner. Good to see her. Went to rally and football game after dinner. Took her. Later George and I walked in rain looking at homecoming.

George's Letter Home:

Dear Family,

I am very sorry that I have not been more attentive to you in my correspondence, and I regret that this letter will not be very satisfying. I just wanted to drop you a note before dinner to tell you that I am thinking of you and that I do not intentionally neglect you.

With my house managing and my school work, I almost have more than I can do. Last evening I was up until two in the morning, and I have spent nine hours today already on nothing but my school work. I still have the evening ahead of me, so I will probably be really tired by bedtime.

Here are my midterm grades:

Military                        B
Speech                         A
C. Poets                       B
M. Governments         B
Psychology                 C

These are very good grades and they net me a total of 32 points. I only hope that I will be able to come out as well in the end. I don’t know how long I can last at the present rate, though. The whole trouble is that there is too much to do Fall term. Every weekend brings something that you must take part in whether you so desire it or not. Winter term will not be so bad.

I am going to Corvallis Saturday, but I will return right after the game.

That is all. Sunday I will take time to write you my life history of the past week. A very interesting biography of a poor hick which will only sell for the small sum of $6.00 ----- I thank you for your patience and most of all, I wants you to know that I loves you both.

Love,  Brother
