August 13, 1932 - Saturday

I got up early this morning and washed my hair and ironed a whole lot of things. George went over with me at seven while I ate. Then after the moon came up we went part way up Garfield.

George's letter home:

Dear Mother,

How are things way way down there – Huh? Everything here is fine, and I feel much better than when I wrote my last morbid epistle. However, the sun still shines here; and the moon is right in all its splendor. Did you and mine Pop (have you thrown his lid away yet? Do that immediately) ever taken moonlight walks? Great stuff.

Anne’s cousins from China were here last week, and we had fun entertaining (not bad) them.

Papa Price loves me so dearly that he has decided to keep me until the very last. This time I must go right to Eugene; because there will be many things demanding my attention. Here are the new things I will need for school:

1.     Three white “Arrow Trump Shirts”
2.     Three sets of white underwear.
3.     Five pairs of black silk socks.
4.
I hope that will not be too much. If you could only manage to send two of my ten suits down, everything would be great. (I can get my car later).

That’s all, Love Brother
