June 7, 1931 - Sunday

Senior breakfast and reading of the Taw Huw. That hadn’t been over long when it was time for lunch. Went on picnic up the river in the afternoon. Mended stockings all morning.

George's Letter Home:

Dear Folks,

Not much news this time, I just thought I had better write and let you know how much gold I will need this time. Forty two dollars and twenty-one cents is all that I can seem to find to pay; so I guess that will have to do.

It won’t be long now before bob Trimm and I drop in on you.  He and I went to a show this afternoon, and that seems to be all I did this weekend.

Dan Longaker is going to open a sandwich shop in Seaside this summer and I could go in with him if I had seventy-five bucks. We could make a success of it too, because we know everybody that goes down there from the younger crowd. I could borrow the money from someone and pay it back by the summer’s end. Write me and let me know what you think about it.

Love, George
