We slept late again ‘til twelve. Mrs. Holister had gone to
town so Alladine and I cleaned the house. About six Teepe came for me and I had
dinner with her, then went to Fransettas for bridge.
Jane's Notes: I think I've said before that Teepe was a life long friend of Mom's. A funny personal story. When I was working for Camp Fire I was put in charge of the Eastside Branch. We were putting together an advisory board and a member of the Redmond City Council, Margaret Doman, was recruited to join the board. We had a board retreat to get things kicked off. Margaret and I knew we had met sometime in our past but could not think of when or where. The only thing I could have said about her from my dim memory was that she talked incessantly. And as the years had passed (as it turned out some 40 years) things had not changed. She was still a talker. At the retreat we were asked to give our backgrounds and when I mentioned Oregon City - it suddenly hit Margaret where we knew each other. Margaret, as it turned out, was Teepe's daughter. We had known each other at family gatherings of college friends of Mom and Dad and we figured out the last time we'd probably seen each other was when we were both 10. Mom died just a couple of months later and soon after Teepe also passed away. Margaret and I still run into each other occasionally and it's always a nice opportunity to think about Mom and her college friends.
